Katydid Kids Camps

While school is out, Katydid offers fun, nature-based programs for elementary aged children. Katydid, Inc. began running summer camps in 1991 and quickly gained a reputation for high-quality programming. Over the years, Katydid has operated summer day camps at Burke Lake, Colvin Run Mill, Eleanor C. Lawrence, and Lake Fairfax Parks. Our day camp programs at Frying Pan Park now serve children ages 4 to 10 years over 13 weeks of the winter, spring, and summer breaks. Look for us in Parktakes - the quarterly publication of activities, classes and camps from the Park Authority or at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks.

Once you sign up, you will be provided a link via email to the ePACT system for required forms.

We are a licensed camp! Therefore, we also require the following at the first day of camp:

Proof of identification
- Original birth certificate
- Passport or passport card
- Public School report card with child's name (Private school report cards are not accepted)

School Break Camps

During Winter and Spring school breaks, elementary aged children (ages 5-10) campers will enjoy learning about the farm and nature, hiking, and farm visits (weather permitting). Indoor activities include building, arts and crafts, painting, board games, and other activities! Children must be in Kindergarten or above.
